St. Lucia
Saint Lucia is a small island state in the Caribbean Sea. The country’s largest city and its capital is Castries. It is located in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean and borders Martinique, St. Vincent and Grenada islands. It was a British colony for many years and finally gained its independence from Britain in 1979. The political system of this country is constitutional monarchy, and the Queen of England is still one of the first people in the politics of this country. The climate of this country is hot and humid and due to its abundant natural beauty, it is known as one of the tourist destinations of South America and the Caribbean. The main income of this country is gained from the export of fruits, especially bananas, as well as the tourism industry. The official language of this country is English, but considering that in the past this country was also a French colony, the second language of this country is a combination of French and other languages. St. Lucia is part of the archipelago known as the Lesser Antilles. The population of St. Lucia is very small and according to the latest official census, this country has a population of one hundred and seventy-four thousand people and covers an area of about six hundred and seven square kilometers. The majority of St. Lucia’s population are descendants of black Africans who were brought into this country as slaves during the colonial period.

Just like other countries in the world, doctoral programs in St. Lucia are taught in English. Most of the courses at this stage are not class-oriented and are project-oriented. As you can see in other articles on our website, getting admission into a PhD program is completely different from other levels of study. In order to find a tutor/supervisor, you need to first find the list of professors in each faculty of your desired university by visiting the university website. Usually the names and emails of the professors are in the
am I eligible (qualified) for this program
In this section, you can check your eligibility. In some fields of study or universities, the process of applying for a doctoral program is reversed and the opposite. For example, first you have to apply for your desired field and after the university recognizes you as an eligible applicant for admission, the university will send you the list of professors in your desired field along with their line of research and the subject of their research which will allow you to correspond with professors. There are different requirements in order to be accepted by the professor, but the most important factors are:
the level of the university from which you graduated and got your degree from – your GPA – your score in the main lessons which are important the professor – Your papers and conferences, especially at the international level – Your writings, whether articles or books – Your level of language proficiency, which can be proven by presenting an IELTS or TOEFL – Proximity of the professor’s line of research or project to the articles and projects that you have done so far – The faculty and professor’s team must have an open position and of course you need a little bit of luck (whether you have corresponded with the right professor or not and whether you did it at the right time)
