Entrepreneurship in Canada and obtaining a residence permit

Entrepreneurship in Canada is one of the most popular ways to get residency. Canada is a federal state with 11 different states. Each Canadian state has its law, but ultimately all are governed by a single federal law. Individuals planning to reside in Canada by entrepreneurship should present a suitable business plan. The plan must be appropriate and viable for the state. If the business plan is approved and the required capital is determined, people can enter Canada. The minimum capital for entrepreneurship in Canada is 100,000 Canadian dollars.

  • The number of assets and the amount you have to invest in Canada vary depending on your investment region. In Toronto and its suburbs, you must invest at least 600,000 dollars and show that you have assets worth 800,000 dollars. In other Ontario cities, you can start entrepreneurship for less. You can invest 200,000 Canadian dollars and show that you have 400,000 Canadian dollars. You can invest in Toronto by investing outside of Toronto if your field of activity is digital communications, information technology, and such, that is, 200,000 Canadian dollars as the investment amount and 400,000 Canadian dollars as the capital.
  • Entrepreneurship competition is more in this city, so investing and entrepreneurship in other cities can have a higher chance of business success and residency. There are other great and ideal cities outside of Toronto where you can do entrepreneurship. For example, you can invest in Ottawa (the capital of Canada) simpler and cheaper.
  • To apply through this program, you must submit a business plan and prove that you can hire one or two Canadian citizens or permanent residents in your business. In Toronto (Toronto and Suburbs), you should hire two people, and in other cities, you should hire at least a person.
  • You must own at least one-third of the business you start or buy.
  • You must have traveled to Canada a year before submitting your application, and have an exploratory trip to Ontario, and visited the city in which you intend to invest.
  • There is no minimum educational degree required for this program, but higher education levels can be a bonus for you. The language certificate score is a positive point for you.
  • After applying to the Canadian immigration site, they will check your conditions and give you some scores. You can apply for this program if you get the necessary scores. After receiving the invitation, you will get a Work Permit and must go to Ontario and make the investment. You have 20 months to start your own business. After that, you must report to the Canadian Government and demonstrate that you have met your business plan expectations. If your report is approved by the Canadian Government, you will be nominated and can apply for permanent residency with your spouse and children below 22 years.

Entrepreneurship in Canada (New Brunswick)

Those with a managerial background and the necessary capital can receive permanent residency in Canada by becoming an entrepreneur in New Brunswick. Before, people could travel to this province with their family members immediately after applying for entrepreneurship and accepting their plan and obtain permanent residence in Canada for themselves and their families. They also needed to pay a deposit of 100,000 Canadian dollars to the New Brunswick government, which they could later repay. However, in the new changes in the New Brunswick’s laws, this deposit has been removed, and individuals must first travel to this province with a Canadian work permit and obtain a residence permit if they have the necessary conditions and can start their business within nine months. Then, after a year of running that business, a person can submit a performance report to the local authority to apply for permanent residency for oneself, one’s spouse, and children under 22 years of age.

People had to invest 250,000 dollars in New Brunswick, but under the new rules, that amount has been reduced to 150,000 dollars. The age limit for a New Brunswick entrepreneurship program has also increased up to 59 years.

In the following, we will discuss the necessary conditions for obtaining the necessary privileges and approval of the New Brunswick Provincial Government.

The amount of capital $ 500,000 (assets)

$ 150,000 (investment)

Work Experience At least three to five years in the last five years of owning or running a business
Educational degree At least a diploma is accepted.
Age Age 22 to 59 years
Language certificate CLB5
Residential status Work residence for at least a year
Companion Spouse and children up to 22 years

  1. The first stage

The first step is to choose a name that fits the company’s activities. This name should be unique (there should be no company in Canada with such a title). Entrepreneurial applicants in Canada can use the online system to register a company.

  1. The third stage

The third step is to appoint the CEO. The CEO should not be less than 18 years old. An entrepreneurial applicant in Canada must also provide proof of no criminal record and not have a bankruptcy record.

  1. The fourth stage

The final step is to complete the company registration forms and pay the costs according to the type of entrepreneurship in Canada and the company registration method.

Entrepreneurship in Canada and Business Plan

A business plan is a complete report that every applicant for entrepreneurship in Canada must submit. The business plan is a descriptive and complete report. In other words, it includes detailed reviews that should show its profitability for Canada. Entrepreneurs in Canada must carefully review and submit a written business plan for the market, manufacturing, services, technology, human resources, and all aspects. Entrepreneurial Applicants in Canada need to answer a few questions to present their business plan. For example, what is your target market? How do you want to make a profit? Who are your competitors, and how do you want to compete with them?
